Description

Number five in a series of artists’ books, published by The Lions, of drawings in both black and white and in colour. The Lions is a group of Vancouver artists who have been meeting weekly since 2003 to work collaboratively on drawings. The pictures the produce are the sum of uneasy tensions between familiar pictorial and genre conventions, and their aggressive play with those conventions. The lions are James Whitman, Barry Doupe, Matthew Brown, Tasha Brotherton and Collin Whitman.
