Panayiotis Terzis’s Spectrum Test is a core sample of painting and drawing experiments that signaled a new direction for the NYC based artist. Forms melt and bleed into each other in ultrasaturated washes of color. Vibrant hues rendered in gouache clash and combine, calibrating the eye. Terzis draws imagery from the ancient past, far future, and space age present to collapse all eras within a maelstrom of vibrating color.
Originally published by Bronze Age Editions in 2013 on the occasion of a solo exhibition by the artist at Printed Matter Inc. in New York, this third edition is printed at double the scale of the original, rendered in Riso CMYK leading to a final shift from the hues of the original edition.
