An extraordinary work composed of four posters, each related to a season of the year. In words and photographs, these graphically beautiful posters communicate with great artistic intelligenc. Summer: a text describing colonial visits to the New World is juxtaposed with images of repaits to the Trevi Foundation in Italy and a baby joyously spitting out water. Fall: graffiti over a photograph discuss phallocentrism and contemporary anti-Semitism, juxtaposed with an account of SS violence against a rebellious woman. Winter: photographs of John Wayne in West Berlin, John Wayne Gacy as a clown and John Wayne Bobbit’s penis. Spring: portraits of six women in their late years: Hannah Arendt, Marhta Graham, Golda Meir…
